ShareTracker now the largest market share research company in telecom sector
ShareTracker, a leading provider of communications market share measurement, announced today that it has acquired Nielsen’s telecom operator market and FlowShare measurement products. This acquisition will build on ShareTracker’s existing wireless, video, voice and data market share measurement tools by expanding operations, licensing key intellectual property necessary to run the business and increasing the diversity of its market and FlowShare measurement product offerings. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“With this acquisition, ShareTracker becomes the largest U.S. market research company dedicated to telecom market and FlowShare measurement products and analytics,” said Eric Fogle, president. “ShareTracker has long helped the communications industry keep score by delivering accurate market and FlowShare measurement across all services. Through our own development and this acquisition, our market share services include wireless and wireline voice, cable, satellite and fiber TV subscription services, as well as mobile and fixed broadband services market and FlowShare measurement.” RLJ Credit Opportunity Fund helped finance the deal.
Nielsen’s suite of operator market and FlowShare products will be integrated into ShareTracker’s existing portfolio following a transition period, which will be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2014. The expanded ShareTracker portfolio will enable the company to provide clients with more robust market analytics and trends across all wireless and wireline services to homes and businesses.
Nielsen will focus on its next generation suite of solutions measuring consumer experiences with operators, including network performance, and will continue to invest in further developing these capabilities.
